Jilin Animation Institute is located in New and Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, Changchun which is called the beautiful “Spring City of the North”. It just likes a shining art pearl. And it’s the cradle of cultivating animation, cartoon and game talents. Under the instruction of experts and professors, students from 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions are composing their great art life.

Standard teaching buildings, modern Original ACG Industry Garden and colorful campus culture show that the bright institute will have a brilliant future. Jilin Animation Institute is a private institute full of vigor, wisdom, friendship and harmony.

Jilin Animation Institute has a nine-year history. Under the lead of President Zheng Liguo, it carries the motto spirit of “Self-esteem, Self-discipline, Innovation and Creativity”, sticks to the open mode of school-running, adopts the integration of teaching, research and industry and realizes innovation in the reform and development in the innovation. In December 2004, Jilin Animation Institute was entitled “National Teaching and Research Base” by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television. In June 2005, Jilin Animation Institute, together with Changchun Film Group and Jilin Publishing Group, was authorized “the National Animation Industry Base”. In June 2007, Jilin Original ACG Industry Garden was approved to establish in Jilin Animation institute by the People's Government of Jilin Province.

Jilin Animation institute takes animation, comic and game as the main part and other majors such as humanities develop in harmony. After nine years’ construction, it has been developed into a private institution of higher education with distinct characteristics. The institute has 5 schools, including School of Animation and Comic, School of Game, School of Design, School of Media and School of Adverting. It has an area of 435,000 square meters, 199,000 square meters of building area and 6500 students.

With the new system and flexible mechanism of the private institute, Jilin Animation Institute employs experts and professors who are experienced and accomplished in theory and practice. It has 372 teachers, among whom professors, associate professors and teachers with Master’s degree account for more than 30%. It has formed a “Double Qualified” teaching force and cultivated a group of qualified art talents with applied and advanced skills. Since 2004, the one-time employment rate has been above 90% and gained good reputation in the society.

According to the features of majors and orientation of institute, it takes the distinctive teaching model---integration of teaching, research and industry---as an effective way to achieve the goal of talent training. It sets up Animation Research Institution and Modern Animation Technology Engineering Research Center of Higher Education. Six experimental centers are established such as the Computer Center, Photography Center, Design Center, Center of Animation Check, Center of Studio & Production and Center of Multimedia Teaching. And there’re more than 60 studios and workshops for experts and students. Original Animation & Game Production Company, Advertising Company and Jilin Yushuo ACG Science & Technology Co., Ltd. are also successively established. Under the instruction of experts, students can create and make production of animation, comic, game and art design. The animation serials “Happy Avenue No. 1” were televised in the Channel 7 of China Central Television (CCTV) in August 2008. The features “Kuan Kung” and “Changbai Spirit” created and edited by the institute have been included in the “11th Five-Year Key Cultural Industry Development Plan” of Jilin Province.

Jilin Animation Institute holds by the open school-running mode, exchanges visits and communicates with institutions and organizations of U.S.A, Japan, South Korea, Britain, Italy and many other foreign countries. And it has signed cooperation agreements with the Image Institute of Korea National University of Arts, Konkuk University in Korea, Korea Seoul National University and Zhou City University of Korea. Since 2002, it has undertaken cartoon exhibitions 3 times and international animation education forum 2 times, which broaden the channels of school-running, expand the fields of cooperation and also promote the development of education and industry.

The construction and development of Jilin Animation Institute gets great concerns and supports from central authorities and local leaders. They go to the institute for inspection and check many times, and give a high degree of appraisal and great approval to the construction and industry's development of the institute.

Now Jilin Animation Institute is standing on a new starting point. We’ll further renew our philosophy, devote more efforts to reform and update teaching facilities. While developing the animation education, we’ll make more efforts to develop the animation industry, promote Chinese culture, build Chinese brands and set up the first-class institution in China and famous university in the world.
